In Billings, Montana, Habitat for Humanity Mid-Yellowstone Valley runs the ReStore, a home improvement store and donation center selling new and secondhand furniture, appliances, home goods and building materials. Money from each resale goes to the organization's work providing safe, affordable housing in the area, so donations stay in Billings. On the sales floor, orange steel shelving holds rows of hanging pendant lights and chandeliers.
The store takes donated goods and materials, including commercial donations from contractors, businesses, moving companies and property managers. Free pickup of large items such as appliances and building materials can be scheduled online. A free loyalty program gives store credit on every purchase, and the points never expire. The ReStore is open five days a week and closed Sundays and Mondays.
