Founded by a New Bedford local, Grab Dat B 4 U Miss Dat began as a way to help students and their families save money while keeping good-quality clothing, books and household goods out of landfills. The shop calls itself a thrift styling store, and its stock runs from women's, men's and children's clothing and shoes to vintage home decor such as candle holders and glassware. Pieces are also sold online through the store's own shop.
Mondays bring a discount for students with a valid school ID, and Wednesdays bring a senior discount for shoppers 55 and older, both offered in store only. Beyond secondhand goods, the business aims to build community, support education and create local jobs. The New Bedford, Massachusetts shop is open five days a week.
