Southbury, Connecticut, is home to the Southbury Training School Thrift Shops. The shops open six days a week, Monday through Saturday, and close on Sundays, with Saturday keeping a shorter stretch than the weekdays. Those hours are written by hand on a sheet of pale blue paper with a scalloped edge, taped inside the glass of a white-framed door. The Saturday times have been traced over a second time in heavier black marker.
