In York, Maine, the York Community Service Association runs this thrift shop alongside its food pantry and family services, all part of its work helping town residents through difficult times. Its stock includes clothing, shoes and accessories for men, women and children, plus housewares, dishes, glassware, home decor, artwork, lamps, linens, games, toys and bicycles. On Age-Friendly Tuesdays, shoppers aged 60 and older receive a discount.
The shop is open seven days a week, and donations come in during business hours with no appointment needed. Items must be clean and free of stains or tears, and furniture is welcome only in excellent condition, with no pickup offered. Electronics, appliances, mattresses and building supplies are not accepted. The white clapboard building has black shutters and a dormer above its sign.
