Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity runs this Milton ReStore. It takes in donated new and used goods that would otherwise go to the landfill and resells them to the public at discounted prices. The money stays local and pays for the land, building materials and services behind the nonprofit's affordable homes. The stock includes furniture, appliances, cabinets, home décor and clothing.
Donations of furniture, appliances and home improvement materials are welcome, and donation pick-up is free. The organization also accepts vehicles and large residential or commercial donations. Last year its ReStores kept more than 3 million pounds of materials out of landfills. A blue-and-green ReStore sign hangs above the entrance of the long white building, between gray stone pillars. The store is open seven days a week.
