Goodwill of Greater Washington's Dale City store has a retail floor and its own donation center, so the same storefront takes in goods and sells them. The shop is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening. The donation side closes an hour before the sales floor each day. Donors follow published guidelines on which items can and cannot be accepted.
Besides drop-offs at the door, Goodwill of Greater Washington takes vehicle donations, runs donation drive events and lets donors book a priority pickup ahead of time. The regional nonprofit also runs a clothing voucher program and the Excel Center charter high school. A blue metal roof tops the building, and the donation entrance has its own blue sign at one end of the storefront.
