Edmond is home to this thrift store run by Second Chances, a faith-based 501(c)(3) ministry founded in 2017 to restore dignity and opportunity for people returning to society after time in prison. All proceeds from sales go back into that work, paying for food, bus passes, updated IDs, housing help, counseling and rehab, while the store itself offers work experience to those it serves.
Everything on the shelves comes from donations, and the store takes clothing, homeware and decor directly at its doors. Large yellow block letters spelling "Thrift Store" run across the front, beneath a smaller Second Chances sign. The ministry has paid off a building it is now renovating into a reentry center. The store is open six days a week and closed Sundays.
