Secondhand clothing, household goods and everyday items fill Motown Thrift in Westland, which opens its doors seven days a week and stays open into the evening. Super Thrift Co runs the store. Donations in Michigan go through a partnership with AMVETS, so they help support veterans and also fund local nonprofit programs in the state.
Donation stations take bagged clothing, shoes and small accessories. A free pickup service will also collect donated items from a donor's door by appointment. The company runs clothing collection fundraisers with schools, churches and nonprofits, and its motto, reduce, reuse, recycle, comes from its work keeping usable textiles in circulation and out of landfills. The store's name runs in bold red letters across a long, pale facade above a tan brick front.
