Every purchase at HEP Thrift Store in Clearwater, Florida, supports the Homeless Empowerment Program, a registered 501(c)(3) charity that helps homeless men, women, children and veterans rebuild their lives. All proceeds go directly into the organization's operating fund. The store is open five days a week and stays open later on Wednesdays.
Everything on the shelves comes in as a direct donation to HEP, and those gifts are fully tax-deductible. Donations are accepted at the store Tuesday through Saturday, and free pick-up can be scheduled for donated furniture. Daily deals, sales and new inventory are announced on the store's social media. Green awnings line the cream metal building under its green lettered sign, and inside, the sales floor covers 13,000 square feet.
