UReach Thrift Store runs as a self-sustaining enterprise of Loma Linda University Church. Its main mission is helping the unhoused community by providing clothing, shoes and other essentials. Profits from the store keep the other UReach ministries going, and those ministries offer help with food, transportation, tutoring, hygiene and shelter.
The San Bernardino shop follows a monthly sales schedule and is open six days a week, Sundays included. Volunteers help run the store, and new volunteers can apply online to join the team. Cash gifts from the community also help keep these services going. A black-and-green thrift sign hangs on the long gray corrugated metal building, and tall palm trees rise above it.
