Valley View Community Food Bank, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, runs this Peoria thrift store, which is open to the entire community. Full-time employees operate it, and volunteers sort, clean and price every item donated by the public before it is put out in the store for sale.
The store sells clothing, shoes and outerwear in all sizes, including name brands, along with children's clothing, toys and baby items. Housewares make up much of the remaining stock, from bedding, towels and small kitchen appliances to furniture and decorative pieces. Anyone with items to give can arrange a pick-up of their donations through the food bank. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
