Every dollar from this Nacogdoches resale shop goes to the Family Crisis Center of East Texas, a nonprofit that has served survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault since 1979. The proceeds pay for free emergency shelter, advocacy, food and safety programs, and all store earnings stay in East Texas. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
Donated goods help in a second way as well. Survivors leaving abusive homes receive free vouchers for clothing, kitchenware and furniture to set up a new household. Free pickup is offered for quality furniture and large household items. Long white pegboard shelves stocked with dishes and housewares fill the sales floor, and racks of clothing line the back wall.
