Truckloads of donated goods arrive at Soul's Harbor Thrift Store in Ennis every Tuesday and Friday morning, around opening time. The shop is one of four thrift stores run by Soul's Harbor, Inc., a nonprofit chartered in 1956 that pays for its substance abuse recovery program by selling donated items. Clothing, household goods, books, records and bric-a-brac fill the store, along with pieces from estate liquidators the organization works with.
Soul's Harbor trucks pick up donations six days a week across a wide service area, from a bag or two of clothes to very large loads, and both household and vehicle donations can be requested online. The store sits in a tan corrugated metal building with a red front door. It is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
