Family Thrift Center in Albuquerque puts about 8,000 items onto its sales floor every day, so its stock is always changing. The store covers more than 14,000 square feet and has dressing rooms. Sales run every day, and seniors get a discount on Wednesdays. The store also gives discounts to veterans, active military, law enforcement officers and firefighters.
Donations are arranged by phone, and the store works with VetsConnect, whose truck is part of its donation effort. The low white building has a deep blue-violet band across the top with the store's name in white capital letters, and rounded green shrubs line the front wall. Family Thrift Center is open seven days a week, with shorter hours on Sundays.
