Men's and women's clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry share space with books, CDs, DVDs, kitchenware, artwork, furniture, collectibles and seasonal goods at this Corrales shop. Donations are accepted during business hours and are tax-deductible. Items needing cleaning or repair are not taken, and neither are cribs, car seats, mattresses, computer equipment or TVs. The store is open five days a week, Sundays included.
After 11½ years at its first location, Secondhand Treasures moved in November 2022 to a property where it uses both buildings. The front one is a rust-red barn-style building with a blue-framed upstairs window above a small balcony. The Southwest Animal Rescue Fund, a New Mexico nonprofit, runs the store. Its profits support other local rescue groups and pay for medical care, housing and hospice care for animals, mostly dogs.
