U Turn for Christ NM Thrift Store raises money for a Christ-centered ministry that helps people break free from drug and alcohol addiction. Sales and donations support the organization's local program, which includes men's and women's recovery ranches where residents stay two to eight months. The Albuquerque shop also works as an outreach center, and its red-and-black sign hangs beneath a tall brick gable.
The store takes donations of working, usable items, including furniture, clothing, household goods, electronics, musical instruments and collectibles, though wood entertainment centers are not being accepted. Drop-offs are taken Monday through Saturday, and free pickups can be arranged for large items. The ministry also accepts vehicles, RVs, trailers, equipment and scrap steel. The store is closed on Sundays.
