Robert's Place: Thrift Smart is the Albuquerque thrift shop of Silver Horizons, an organization devoted to helping struggling seniors in the community. The store is open four days a week. Red and teal stripes run across its front windows, and white lettering on the glass lists the help Silver Horizons offers seniors.
Beyond the store, Silver Horizons runs a free grocery program for older residents and helps them with household bills and minor home repairs. The organization takes one-time and monthly monetary gifts, accepts donated vehicles and welcomes volunteers. It also hosts community events, including the Strikes for Seniors fundraiser and its Senior Hall of Fame, and it has supporters in both Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
