Donations dropped off at this Albuquerque Savers go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central New Mexico, which the store pays for the secondhand clothing and household goods it receives. Savers is a for-profit company, so purchases do not support the nonprofit. Accepted donations include clothing and shoes, backpacks and purses, bed and bath items, books and media, games and toys, housewares, electronics, exercise and sporting goods, small appliances and small furniture.
The sales floor carries clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics. Tuesdays bring a senior discount for shoppers 55 and older, and donors receive a coupon toward a later purchase. The store is open seven days a week and into the evening, and its red lettered sign sits above an arched entrance canopy with a teal roof.
