Sales at The Mustard Seed Thrift on Mission support Christian organizations that work toward healing from childhood sexual abuse and preventing it. The store also connects survivors with help: their requests go to a trained team that points them to trusted organizations, counseling, education and support programs. Partner ministries include Survivors of Abuse Restored (SOAR), Preventing Unhealthy Relationships for Everyone (PURE) and Olive Tree Resources.
The Mustard Seed first opened in March 2016. Its mission also covers prevention education that prepares parents, caregivers, schools and churches to protect children. Along with the sales floor, the store sells donated goods online through eBay. The Sellersburg building has a bright pink gable carrying the store's sign above a green covered porch. The store is open into the evening six days a week and closed on Sundays.
