Every purchase at Shirley's Deals in Louisville helps fund Shirley's Way, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that raises money to give financial help to people battling cancer. The organization also supports local children's programs, works with other nonprofits, and backs seniors, veterans and local VFW posts. Through its Shirley's Little Angels program, it helps feed about 5,000 children every week at more than 30 schools.
Shirley's Way has been giving back to families across Kentucky and Southern Indiana since 2014. It also hosts the Cabo Wabo Coat Party, a live music event that raises funds and collects winter coats for neighbors in need. The store is open seven days a week and stays open into the evening on at least one day. Its curved brick front carries a purple-and-orange sign beside two purple handprints.
