Donations come in six days a week, including Mondays, when the sales floor is closed. The store opens to shoppers five days a week and stays open into the evening one day each week. Second Life Resale Shoppe in Crown Point, Indiana, sells clothes, furniture, gifts and home decor, all from donations, and every donation is tax-deductible.
Since 2010, the shop has raised money for the students and families of Crown Point Christian School by reselling what the local community gives. Volunteers help run the store, and the school's own logo sits alongside the shop's branding. At the front door, a dark entry mat carries the shop's name and its motto pairing secondhand goods with firsthand savings.
