Every dollar from Sweet Charity goes to survivors of domestic violence, supporting the women and children staying at The Nest Domestic Violence Shelter. Help End Abuse for Life (H.E.A.L.), a nonprofit, manages this Ruidoso resale boutique, which carries vintage pieces alongside a wide range of everyday items. Shelter clients get first pick of all clothing, and many of them shop after hours for safety. Wednesdays are senior discount days.
Donations of clothing, household goods and furniture are welcome, and clothing should be washed and free of rips, tears or stains. Donations are tax-deductible, and donors get a receipt. The store is open five days a week, and its shelves hold stacks of board games and puzzles beside tables of pottery and dishware.
