The Humane Society of Lincoln County Resale Shop brings in 60 percent of the revenue for the animal shelter it shares a home with in Ruidoso. The Humane Society of Lincoln County runs both. It has operated its shelter since 1987 and moved into a new facility in 2020. Along with dog and cat adoptions, the organization offers low-cost spay and neuter services, low-cost vaccines and microchipping, and trap-neuter-return help for feral cats.
Donated goods keep the resale shop stocked, and the shop will pick up donations on request. Its special events include a June sale and a Sip & Shop gathering. The shop also takes volunteers. It is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
