This charity thrift shop belongs to La Casa, Inc., and every dollar it brings in goes to the organization's programs for survivors of domestic violence. Donated goods go first to La Casa's own clients. Whatever they don't need is sold in the store, and any extra is passed on to partner nonprofits and community groups. The racks and shelves carry housewares, furniture, clothing and shoes for men, women and children, plus baby items, electronics, toys and books. The store also runs an eBay shop.
Donations must be in working order and dropped off before 4 p.m. Furniture can't have major damage, stains or odors. Large furniture can be picked up on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Las Cruces store is open six days a week and closed Sundays, and its long building has bright blue metal awnings and round La Casa signs.
