Run as a volunteer-based nonprofit, Depot MCC Thrift Shops raises money for Mennonite Central Committee. Its sales fund MCC relief and aid projects around the world and also support charities in the local community. In 2025 alone the shop gave $1,148,000 to MCC, and its total giving since it began has reached $8.1 million.
Donations are accepted on the same six days the store is open, and drop-off ends a little before closing each day. The shop is closed on Sundays and stays open into the evening on Thursdays. Long racks of clothing line the carpeted sales floor under track lighting, with a coral-painted wall at the far end. Besides its volunteers, the organization also hires paid staff.
