Since 1982, Sunshine Thrift has operated as a for-profit Florida company, buying its stock from charity partners, retailer returns, wholesalers and even storage units. The St. Petersburg store carries clothing, home décor, furniture, jewelry and everyday household goods, with more than 30,000 items restocked each week across over 13,000 square feet.
Merchandise is arranged by gender and category, and discounts run every week. The doors open seven days a week and stay open into the evening. A teal flamingo logo sits above the white lettering on the store's coral-pink front, which has a black awning over the entrance.
