Highland is home to PAWS Resale plus Local Artisans, the shop Humane Indiana runs to raise money for its work protecting and caring for animals. PAWS stands for Pets And Wildlife Shop, and pets are welcome inside. The stock changes daily and includes like-new clothing and coats, books, toys, jewelry and purses, collectibles, artwork, lamps, kitchenware, tools, yard and garden decor, and crafting and office supplies.
A separate artisan section carries goods made by local small businesses, such as honey, sauces, jams, chocolates and soaps. People can support the animals by shopping, donating items or volunteering, and the store holds weekly sales. Long rows of wooden shelves stocked with china, glassware and plastic ware run the length of the sales floor, and the doors are open seven days a week.
