Donations of home goods, furniture, appliances and building materials can be dropped off at this Avon ReStore Tuesday through Saturday, and the store stays open into the evening. Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity also picks up donations for free on any day except Sunday. A coordinator reviews each offer first, and items must be in good condition and full working order.
The store is a nonprofit home improvement store that sells both new and donated goods. All proceeds from donated items go toward building affordable homes. Stock changes often and usually includes cabinets, vanities, tubs, sinks, windows, doors, flooring, lighting, tools, lumber and recycled latex paint. The cream-colored building has a steep red-trimmed peak and a bold blue ReStore sign with a green house in place of the O.
