Renew by Blue Jacket is run by Blue Jacket, Inc., a Fort Wayne nonprofit built on the belief that no adult should face a barrier to employment. The resale shop hires from the same people the organization serves, and it is the seventh social enterprise Blue Jacket has launched.
For 12 years the store operated as reNEW Upscale Resale under the BCS Foundation, supporting Christian education at Blackhawk Christian School, until the foundation decided to close it in 2022. Blue Jacket bought it on February 1, 2023, and reopened it at the same location, keeping on the existing employees who chose to stay. A green sign with a sprouting-seedling logo still carries the original reNEW Upscale Resale name. The store is open six days a week and closed on Sundays.
