Poverty relief is the work behind this Berne shop. Compassionate Ministries Network is a not-for-profit charity that offers monetary aid, counseling and non-perishable groceries to people in need in its home community, and it also runs this ministry thrift store as part of the same effort. The thrift shop sits alongside those other services, and the charity accepts donations to support its relief work.
The store is open on weekdays and closed on weekends. Out front, a rolling rack of children's clothing stands on the sidewalk next to toddler toys and baby gear, set against the building's cream-colored lower paneling. Inside, the shop is part of a wider network of aid run by one local charity, so it is more than a resale counter.
