Every sale at The Thrifty Kitty Thrift Boutique goes directly to the animals and programs of Humane Pennsylvania, the animal welfare organization that runs the shop. Its stock leans vintage, and it shares a Lancaster campus with Humane Pennsylvania's adoption center for cats and critters. The doors are open seven days a week, and the building is painted a bold purple beneath an oval sign showing a cartoon cat carrying shopping bags.
Donations of clean items in fair shape are welcome, especially vintage pieces and antiques. The store accepts books, comics, magazines, ephemera, glassware, kitchenware, records, CDs, tapes, toys, games, puzzles, art and collections. It generally turns down furniture, mattresses, electronics and clothing, though high-quality vintage examples may be taken after they're checked and approved in advance.
