Under HIS Construction, an Albuquerque nonprofit working since 2011, runs the Good News Store as one of its social enterprises. Every sale funds the group's transitional housing, recovery programs and job training for men and women rebuilding their lives across New Mexico. Residents of the program serve the community through businesses like this store, gaining work experience along the way.
Community donations stock the shelves. The store accepts clothing, furniture, household goods, hygiene products and food, and it also takes donated vehicles and property, with pickups arranged for large items. Gifts of money also go toward housing residents. The store's doors are open seven days a week, Sundays included, so shoppers and donors can stop by any day.
