Savers in Santa Clara accepts donations on behalf of PARCA, a local nonprofit that the store pays for donated goods to help fund its community programs. Savers itself is a for-profit company, so shopping here does not benefit any nonprofit. The shelves carry clothing for the whole family along with dinnerware, accessories, books, housewares and electronics.
Donors can bring clothing and shoes, backpacks and purses, bed and bath items, sporting goods, books and media, games, toys, housewares, small appliances and small furniture, and a drop-off earns a discount on the next purchase. Every Tuesday is Senior Tuesday for shoppers 55 and older. A bright red Savers sign hangs over the entrance, beside a green-signed Community Donation Center. The doors open seven days a week, with evening hours.
