A resale shop owned and operated by the American Cancer Society, the Burbank Discovery Shop sells donated merchandise to support the fight against cancer. Its stock covers clothing, accessories, jewelry, furniture, artwork, antiques, collectibles and other household goods. The Society has run its Discovery Shops for 55 years. The building is trimmed in deep red, and a matching red awning carries the shop's name.
Donations of clothing, shoes, jewelry, housewares and furniture are tax-deductible, and all proceeds go to the American Cancer Society. Drop-offs are taken Monday through Saturday but not on Sunday, even though the doors are open seven days a week. Seniors 55 and older get a discount on Tuesdays, and military members with ID save every day. All sales are final.
