Run by the Kokomo Rescue Mission, the Care & Share Store raises money for the Mission's shelters for men, women and children. It also gives thousands of dollars' worth of clothing and other goods each year to families and individuals who meet income guidelines, and it provides work rehabilitation for the Mission's residential guests and others in the community. Its stock runs from clothing and toys to furniture, purses and small appliances, and home health items are given away free when available.
Donations go to the Donation Center warehouse at the store. Mondays are senior discount days, and a color-tag sale changes every week. The store is open six days a week and closed Sundays. Out front, a white sign with a red cross and a red Kokomo Rescue Mission banner stands on a brick base.
