Donations to the Second Time Around Thrift Store are accepted Monday through Thursday. The shop is open six days a week, closed Sundays, with evening hours on at least one day. It is run by the Cancer Association of Shelby County, a Shelby County United Fund agency. Its sales help the association support local cancer patients financially, personally and spiritually, including with transportation and financial assistance.
Shopping and donating here keep goods in use through reuse and recycling, and the money goes to people fighting cancer in the community. Besides the Shelbyville storefront, the store also sells items through its own eBay shop. A purple sign with a cancer ribbon hangs over the entrance, and racks of clothing line the brick walk out front.
