Every sale at Resale to the Rescue helps fund local animal welfare organizations. That money supports their work to increase spay and neuter numbers, raise adoption rates for homeless animals, lower euthanasia at area shelters and teach the public about animal welfare. The nonprofit upscale resale store in Mishawaka, Indiana, also runs a separate home decor and donation center and offers grants to animal welfare groups. A blue paw print takes the place of the word "to" on its teal-and-blue sign.
The store opens Thursdays through Saturdays, and donations are taken on those days. Items must be clean, odor-free, undamaged and complete. Furniture is welcome as a drop-off, but pickup is no longer offered. The store does not take children's items, remodeling leftovers, hardwired light fixtures, mattresses, exercise equipment or large electronics.
