Run by Habitat for Humanity East Central Ohio, this nonprofit ReStore in Canton sells new and used furniture, appliances, home décor and building supplies. Its stock also includes windows, doors, flooring, siding, lumber, cabinets, lighting, plumbing items, hardware, tools and landscaping pieces. Usable materials sold here stay out of landfills. The store is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
All of its inventory comes from community donations, which are tax deductible, and large items can be picked up free of charge. Cars and trucks are accepted as donations too. Shoppers load their purchases at a lettered customer pick-up bay on the side of the tan metal building. Proceeds help local families build and buy their own safe, affordable homes in partnership with Habitat.
