Every purchase at Unicorn Thrift Shop in San Jose supports Pacific Clinics' programs for children and families. Volunteers have run the shop since 1993, and its group of more than 80 has raised nearly $5 million for the organization. The racks hold women's, men's and children's clothing alongside designer and vintage pieces, bags, scarves and hats, with jewelry, fine china, silver, linens, books, vinyl records and board games rounding out the stock.
All merchandise comes from community donations and is turned over every two weeks. Donations are accepted on any day the shop is open except Wednesday, and it operates six days a week, closing on Sundays. Out front, a teal Unicorn sign hangs beside a green Thrift Shop sign above wire shelves stacked with bins.
