Bad Penny sells vintage and upcycled goods in Tulsa, from apparel, jewelry and accessories to furniture, homewares, art and gifts. The shop sits in the 66 Collective building on historic Route 66, and its approach centers on sustainability through thrifting and upcycling.
A mother-daughter team runs the store, which fulfills a lifelong dream the two shared of opening a shop together. One has collected vintage and antique pieces for more than three decades and restores them herself. The other is the artist behind Bohemian Romance Jewelry, a business started in 2007 that grew from a love of upcycling, assemblage and salvage art. The pair go on junking road trips together and collaborate on upcycled designs. Bad Penny is open five days a week, including Sundays.
