Every dollar left after store overhead at New City Thrift goes to community programs run by Christ's Loving Hands, the nonprofit that operates the shop as a ministry in Harrison, Ohio. The store sells quality, affordable goods. In October 2026 it plans to launch a voucher program, and through it Southwest Local Schools, Reach Out Pregnancy Center and Crossroad Health Center will be able to give free vouchers to families in need.
Donations are dropped off at the back door on store days, which fall on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and gifts are tax-deductible. Volunteers help keep the shop clean and welcoming. The big front windows carry the store's name in flowing white script, set into a wall of rough-cut stone.
