Every sale at the Walkin N Circles Ranch Thrift Store in Edgewood, New Mexico, goes toward the care of rescue horses. The shop is run by New Mexico Horse Rescue at Walkin N Circles Ranch, a nonprofit that has worked since 2002 to rehabilitate, retrain and rehome the more than fifty equines in its care year-round. A long dark brown sign across the front of the tan building spells out Thrift Store in large blue letters.
The store accepts donations of horse tack, furniture, clothing, shoes, artwork, kitchen items, books and more, and volunteers can help the rescue by working there. It is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. Money from the shop covers nearly 40 percent of the ranch's operating budget.
