Every sale at Talking Talons Thrift Store helps fund the youth programs of Talking Talons Youth Leadership, a nonprofit youth development organization. Its mission is to help young people and the community become advocates and stewards for wildlife, habitats and the environment. The shop pays its own way, and after covering operating costs and local jobs, all of its revenue goes to the nonprofit. Recycled goods and clothing make up the stock.
Donations need to work and have all their parts. The store does not take large appliances, filing cabinets, old monitors or TVs, mattresses, futons, baby equipment, couches, particle board furniture or damaged items. It is open five days a week, including Sundays. Its tan metal building has a yellow sign with a bird logo, and furniture is set out front.
