In San Jose, the Salvation Army Thrift Store & Donation Center works as both a shop and a drop-off point for donations. Upholstered sofas, wooden dressers, table lamps and shelves of stereo equipment fill its sales floor. Money from its sales goes toward the charity's rehabilitation programs for adults. The doors open every day of the week, with evening hours on at least one of them.
