Every purchase at Beacon House Thrift Shop in Long Beach supports The Beacon House and the men in its program as they work toward lasting sobriety and steady jobs. Most of the shop's team are graduates of that recovery program. The racks and shelves hold furniture, clothing, household goods and brand-name pieces, and select items are also sold online. Repeat shoppers can join the Valued Partner Program, a loyalty program with exclusive offers.
Donations can be dropped off during store hours, or donors can schedule a free pickup. A separate haul service removes items the shop cannot accept as donations. The doors are open seven days a week, and the shop stays open into the evening. Out front, a round lighthouse emblem sits beside blue lettering on a terracotta-colored gabled facade.
